Given that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors to evoking change over the course of therapy, it is important for you to find a therapist that you feel comfortable with. Because you and your time are incredibly valuable, I want to ensure that I respect that.
Choosing a therapist can be tricky! The best information that I can provide is to choose a therapist who can offer you availability in terms of days and times that work for you but more importantly, a therapist who you feel comfortable with (relatively speaking of course, as it is very difficult to feel, “comfortable” with someone just from virtually meeting them once). Research indicates that 60% of change that happens over the course of therapy happens because of the quality of the rapport (also known as the relationship) between client and therapist. I would encourage you to, “go with your gut” in terms of who you think is the best fit for you.
